The Success Coaching program sought to connect youth with caring supportive adults who would be there for them post-emancipation. The program consisted of:
- Connecting youth with a caring adult mentor for a long-term supportive relationship
- Youth driven mentor match making, meaning youth chose their Success Coach based on their identified goals and/or shared interests
- Recruitment of volunteer Success Coaches from various communities in Chicago and surrounding suburbs
- Specialized training for volunteer Success Coaches to teach them how to build positive mentoring relationships, how to support youth in crisis, and how to advocate for and empower youth in care
- Minimum one year commitment required of Success Coaches
- Family Finding was offered to help youth expand their support network by strengthening existing family connections and re-establishing lost connections
