Our most recent result of the quarter showcases the success of our Power of Fathers program. Fathers participating in Power of Fathers were found to spend more time with their children, improve their parenting and co-parenting skills and their overall relationships with their children and co-parents. The impact of being a present parent has benefits for the fathers as well, including an increase in heightened regulation and expression of emotion, an overall greater sense of well-being, and a decrease in substance abuse and contact with the criminal justice system.

Power of Fathers was a  five-year innovative collaboration between Children’s Home & Aid, Fathers, Families & Healthy Communities, Family Focus, and Metropolitan Family Services. Children’s Home & Aid reached 309 fathers over the five years in Chicago’s Greater Englewood and North Lawndale communities.
