Enhancing The Development Of Young Children
Children’s Home & Aid’s Early Start is a community-based program designed to help low-income families with infants better raise their children. The program provides family support in a group setting, educating parents on child development, positive discipline techniques and parenting skills. The program also helps transition children into a school setting through a prekindergarten program.
The Early Start program recognizes the unique role of parents as their child’s primary nurturers and advocates. For this reason, parents are active participants in the Early Start program. The program also makes a special effort to encourage and support the role of fathers in parenting activities. Early Start is free of charge and provides a number of services including: personal home visits, group meetings, screenings and access to a resource network.
The Early Start program is offered in the Central Region.
