The NEXT program was facilitated by partner agency Kaleidoscope. NEXT sought to address youth’s preparedness for employment by offering:
- Job Readiness Training (JRT) with the goals of teaching soft skills and preparation for work environment
- JRT was delivered through in-person one-on-one sessions offered where the youth felt comfortable in order to remove barriers such as transportation and inflexible scheduling
- A supported employment experience where youth were placed in a 300 hour externship funded by the grant with employers recruited by program staff
- Upon successful completion of the 300 externship hours, employers committed to hire youth on as permanent staff
