You Made the Holidays Bright – Thank You!

Our hearts overflowed – the generosity of Children’s Home + Aid donors was truly amazing this holiday season. More than 4,000 children and families were provided with the gift of an extra special holiday because of the generosity of 131 corporate donors, 217 individual donors and 80 volunteers.
There were bikes and iPads, games and toys, hand-knitted blankets, cribs for newborns, space heaters, “My First Christmas” pajamas and new warm coats and boots. A microwave and space heater for a family that had lost everything in a fire. And, thanks to our partnership with Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops, nine tons of donated warm winter coats, hats, boots, gloves and scarves to help kids and families get through the brutal Illinois winter.
“We are constantly amazed by the generosity of the individuals and companies that find room on their holiday lists for our boys and girls,” said Nancy Ronquillo, CEO of Children’s Home + Aid. “It is so moving to me to see the bags and bags of gifts, knowing that each gift represents a thread of connection and support, from that donor to a child they will never meet. It’s a tangible way of showing our kids ‘we’ve got your back. You’re not alone.’”
This love and caring is shown at Children’s Home + Aid programs throughout the state, from Granite City to Bloomington, Rockford to Chicago, and many places in between. Thanks to our generous donors, children and families from all of our programs across the state received a gift this year, including things they desperately needed and things they desperately wished for. Cash donations totaling more than $38,000 will allow us to help our boys and girls year-round to realize their goals and dreams.
Donors like you make this all possible – please accept our deepest thanks. If you didn’t have a chance to make a gift, you can still help by making a gift today. We thank you for caring for these children and families.
