Children’s Home & Aid is so grateful for all of the support we received in our Central Region this holiday season. Read below for all the details of our holiday events!

In our Central Region…

Stuff the Bus – The Bloomington-Normal community stepped up to make a significant difference in the lives of infants and young children in crisis for our 17Th Annual Stuff the Bus event. Stuff the Bus is a weeklong event where we ask the community to donate diapers, formula, toys, and other baby and children’s items. This event stocks the Children’s Home & Aid Crisis Nursery for the entire year – which feeds, clothes and cares for the hundreds of at-risk children who come to us when their family is experiencing a state of crisis.

This year was a new record year with 8,840 items, an increase of more than 1,000 additional items from last year! We’d like to give a special shout out to our partners, including Connect Transit, Great Plaines Media, and Paul Davis Restoration of Central Illinois.

Champaign Office Family Holiday Party – Our Champaign office held their first Annual Family Holiday Party. Mr. and Mrs. Claus made a surprise visit to the families and read a Christmas story to the children. Each child received a gift and families enjoyed tasty snacks while completing arts and crafts activities

Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program – The Adopt-a-Family holiday program helped families in need served within Children’s Home & Aid’s Central Region. For over 30 years, The Adopt-a-Family program has been assisting families during the holiday season. This comprehensive program provides personal clothing needs as well as a “wish list” item or two. Last December, this holiday tradition served 577 people in 158 families totaling $115,400 of in-kind donations. Thank you to our 121 donors – 78 individuals and 43 churches, groups and businesses – for your kindness and generosity.

We are so grateful to all Children’s Home & Aid supporters who made the season brighter for kids and families!
