Taking Steps to End Child Abuse 5K Color Run/1 Mile Walk

Why We Run/Walk

The annual race is in memory of young Jack and Duncan Leichtenberg of LeRoy, victims of the 2009 murder-suicide by their father after he failed to return them to their mother from a visit.

Please join us on Saturday, April 27^th for our 9^th annual run/walk to help change lives. All proceeds from the race go to the Family Visitation Center, (https://www.childrenshomeandaid.org/pareting/family-visitation-center/) the only one of its kind in the McLean County region. The center provides a safe, neutral, child-friendly environment for supervised visitation and exchanges for families where there is an active order of protection in place.

Race Details

Fairview Park in Normal

9:30am – Check-in/Registration

10am – Balloon Release

10:15am – 1 Mile walk begins

10:30am – 5K run begins

Cost

$40 per participant 13 years and up

$10 per participant 6 -12 years

Free for ages 5 and under

Strollers and dogs are welcome

Online registration is now closed. Registration is available on Friday, April 26 at packet pick-up (5pm-7pm at Great Plains Media – 108 Boeykins Pl., Normal) or on race day.
