Adopt-A-Family 2021

With Your Help – We Can Make the Holiday Season Brighter for Children & Families

For over 40 years, The Adopt-A-Family program has been providing families in the Bloomington-Normal area with assistance during the holiday season. Last year, this holiday tradition gifted 175 families with basic necessities and special wish list items. Due to increased local programming, as well as the ongoing effects of COVID-19 on our families, we have 200+ families to support this year. Please consider providing gifts to a family for the holidays!

“Adopt” a Family or Individual

You will be provided with a list of items to shop for and deliver unwrapped to the Wrapping Center during open hours. Alternatively, you can purchase a gift card and a volunteer will shop for you. Contact Laura Cordero at lcordero@childrenshomeandaid.org to be matched with a family.

Provide Special Needs Items

Provide our most needed items to help families during the holidays and throughout the year, such as household supplies, clothing/shoes, baby items and toys. Deliver to the Wrapping Center during open hours. Download the Special Needs list.

Monetary Donations

Funds raised for the Adopt-A-Family Program will supplement the holiday needs of families and will support new families being served in our programs. In addition, the funds are used to assist families facing a crisis at various times throughout the year in the Bloomington-Normal area.

Wrapping Center

Donors are notified of the Wrapping Center location when family wish list profiles are sent.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesdays: 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

*Closed November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day and November 24th – 26th for Thanksgiving.
