The Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child & Family Center provides subsidized services to low-income, high-risk families living in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and the surrounding areas. The center is an early intervention program providing early childhood care and education, enabling families to work and receive assistance to care for their children.
The Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child & Family Center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 250 days a year for child care services. The programs offered through the center provide child care, early childhood education, parenting education and support, crisis counseling, Raising A Reader*, and intervention services. The center also helps low income families obtain health insurance through KidCare, a state program that offers health care coverage and premium payment assistance to children and pregnant women.
Raising A Reader
*The Raising A Reader program marries two of the Early Childhood Care & Education Centers’ goals: 1) to ensure that children are “kindergarten ready” when they leave the program at age five and 2) to work with parents and caregivers to support their involvement in the education of their children.
