On Monday, June 25, the Chicago Sports Alliance hosted a Field Day for youth and mentors from Choose to Change at Malcolm X College in Chicago. Chicago Police Department officers from Districts 3, 5 and 7, joined the youth for lunch, peace circles and team-building activities. The event provided a meaningful opportunity to get together and help build relationships between young people and the police department.

The Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox formed the Chicago Sports Alliance in December 2017 to partner with programs like Choose to Change that reduce violence in Chicago. Choose to Change provides individual and group mentoring and therapy in Chicago’s Englewood and West Englewood neighborhoods to teach youth ways to deal with trauma and improve decision making.
