Welcome to Children’s Home + Aid! As a full-time employee, you are eligible for a range of benefits for you and your family, including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, Life Insurance, 401k, Flexible Spending Plans, and more. Your health and insurance benefits take effect the first of the month following 30 days at the agency. For example, if your hire date is February 6th, then your benefits are effective April 1st. If your hire date is May 1st, then your benefits take effect June 1st.
To Enroll In Health Benefits
You must enter your benefits elections in UltiPro within your first 30 days of employment. To do so, login to UltiPro, click the Menu button, select the Myself tab then click the Life Events ink. Review the Benefits Enrollment Instructions document for details on how to complete your benefits enrollment in Ultipro.
If you miss your initial benefits enrollment deadline, your next opportunity to enroll in Children’s Home + Aid benefits will be during the annual open enrollment period in November; those elections are effective January 1st. Or, if you experience a qualifying life event (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth of a child, spouse’s job loss, etc.) during the year, you would have the chance to modify your benefit choices mid-year. You must contact us within 30 days of the event to take advantage of a Life Event enrollment.

Automatic 401k Enrollment
To encourage long-term retirement savings and help you take advantage of the annual agency match contribution*, the Children’s Home + Aid 401k Plan has an automatic enrollment feature. After 30 days of employment you will be signed up to contribute 2% of your eligible, pre-tax earnings into the plan. These contributions will be invested into Target Date Funds based on your age, and each year the contribution amount will automatically increase by 1%.
Note – at any time you can opt out of enrollment in the 401k, increase or decrease your contribution, and manage how your contributions are invested within the plan. To do so, register for online access to your account at Fidelity Investments or call participant services at 1-800-835-5097. Check out the ‘Fidelity Fast Facts’ document for more details.
*The agency strives to budget an annual 401k match contribution of 50%, up to a maximum match contribution of 3% of earnings. The exact match amount each year is contingent on financial results and board approval. Employees with at least 12 months of service as of June 30th are eligible for the match, and agency contributions are 100% vested with three years of service.
