Dear Expectant Parents:
We would like to say thank you for reading this and considering us as prospective parents for your child. We believe what you are contemplating is without question one of the greatest acts of love and selflessness a person can do. We are grateful and excited that you are taking the time to learn more about us.
Norma, Brad & Sarah
We are Norma and Brad and we met in 2008. We are a multicultural home. Norma is from Colombia, South America and Brad is from northern IL. We speak English and Spanish both in our house. We were married in March 2009 and we have been blessed with our daughter Sarah who was born in 2010. Sarah came to us in the traditional way and she is a vibrant, fun-loving, smart girl and it’s an immeasurable joy for us to experience every day with her. We desire to add to our family because we both come from large loving families and had dreamed of having more than one child. We want to share the love and life we have been blessed to experience with another child.
Our Neighborhood & Family
We live in a small quiet town in the middle of many farms. There are less than 20,000 residents here and it has a nice small town feel to it. This is a great place to raise kids and we live near the elementary school in an excellent school district as well. There are lots of kids to play with.
Norma talks about Brad
I have been married to my wonderful husband since 2009. One of the amazing things I like about him is the way he always treats me with such tenderness. Even if we have a difference of opinion he always speaks to me with respect and understanding and expresses his thoughts in a positive way to make his point. Brad always has time for me and Sarah. It does not matter if he is tired or if he had a difficult day, he always makes time for us. My husband is an incredible father and really enjoys playing anything with Sarah, even with Barbie’s and the dollhouse and pretending to cook in the toy kitchen. He is always available for our daughter. Brad is such a good father, son, friend and husband; he is the perfect match for me.
Brad talks about Norma
In 2009 I became the luckiest man on Earth when I married Norma. We met in 2008 and married about a year later. The first thing I will always remember about Norma is the smile she gave me the day we met. It was like I knew her all my life. The second but even more important thing I love about my wife is the size of her heart and how big it is. She is a truly special person I am truly blessed to be with her. I love how she can be so excited about things and be just like a little girl at Christmas. I am amazed at her ingenuity also when she decides to do things such as making doll clothes, doll furniture or building a farm out of cardboard boxes with Sarah. It is always entertaining and fun for me be living with these two girls. It is a true joy to be married to her. She is a great mom for Sarah and it is amazing for me to see the depth of love she has for our daughter. I know that she has much more love to give to an additional child as well.
We chose an open adoption because we believe that is the most honest and best option for everyone involved. We want our child to know how much their birth family cares for them and that they carefully chose us to raise them. We are willing to work with you regarding future communications.
Thank you & closing thoughts
Thank you again for learning more about our family and our lives. We truly appreciate the gravity and magnitude of what you are contemplating. We hope to be able to share our lives with another child and have the blessed experience of nurturing them along the path of life. We are committed to raising strong, independent children with a great set of values to guide them through the journey ahead of them in a positive and encouraging home. We will provide them with more love than is imaginable and give them the kind of life that will help them become a happy, healthy, fun loving, responsible great person.
We wish you the best!
