About 2Gen
The 2Gen Program supports the entire family – both children and adults. 2Gen offers families the opportunity to work with a coach on goals they have, such as:
- Better grades in school
- Starting or growing financial savings
- A new or better job
The 2Gen Program is part of a study hosted by Children’s Home & Aid in collaboration with the Chicago Housing Authority and Housing Authority of Cook County. Families must have at least one child under the age of 18 to be eligible to participate in 2Gen.
Note: Enrolled families will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: a group who will receive coaching services, and one that will not. Families in both groups will receive the enrollment gift card.
Choosing to participate will have no impact on a family’s voucher, and families will continue to receive all services that are normally available to them on the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
The 2Gen Program provides a coach who will work with you on goals for you and your family:
- Education
- Financial security
- Employment
- Health
- Safety
