Parents Care + Share

Need Support for the Challenges of Parenting?

Being a parent is one of the toughest jobs there is. Parents Care + Share can help by easing the stress and frustration that comes with raising children. Join other parents as they come together to learn, listen, understand, and encourage one another.

A Parents Care + Share group gives us a place to take a break from the hard job of parenting, to feel safe to talk about painful issues, to laugh over our mistakes, and to learn from—and give support to—others. Being part of a group is one way to relieve stress.

Children's Home + Aid's Parents Care + Share program has groups throughout the Chicagoland area and central Illinois. Groups are generally open to anyone who is parenting, such as biological parents, grandparents raising their grandchildren, single parents, stepparents, foster parents, other relative or nonrelative caregivers, or parents who do not have custody. Some groups only serve a specific type of parent, such as teen parents, parents of autistic children, or adoptive parents. No matter how often or how rarely you come to group, you are always welcome.

Military Families Raising Children: Sharing a Common Bond

The stresses of military service can take its toll on parents and children. To compound the difficulties, many military families are often spread out in communities and isolated from each other and from the family resources of a military base. To provide help and support for military parents and caregivers from all branches—active, inactive, reserve & veterans, including civilian spouses and grandparents who are raising children, Children’s Home + Aid announces the opening of a new support group for military families.
