Child Care Resource and Referral

Matching Families with the Best Possible Child Care Programs

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) is an information and referral service for families, child care providers, employers and communities.

Child Care Resource & Referral provides consumer education resources designed to assist families in selecting a provider, tips on how to make child care arrangements work successfully, and summaries of DCFS licensing standards for child care in Illinois. It offers child care providers a free listing on the CCR&R referral database and statistical data on child care services (i.e., provider fees, local supply and demand, etc.).

Another major focus of CCR&R programs is to improve and ensure the accessibility and availability of quality child care. CCR&R offers educational training and support services to early childhood providers including technical assistance, a resource lending library, training workshops, and professional development opportunities for child care providers through funds available for tuition and conferences. On the community level, CCR&R sponsors literacy activities and recruitment, makes available center licensing summary, and provides statistical and geographical data and information for policy makers about child care issues.

CCR&R is offered in the Southern Region, which provides the full range of services described above, and the Metropolitan Region, which offers educational training and support services to early childhood providers, in partnership with Illinois Action for Children.

Find out more about the CCR&R Program in the Southern Region. For more information about CCR&R in the Metropolitan Region, please call 847-640-9590.
